Terms & Conditions
Ordering Semen and Terms and Conditions.
Chilled Semen
1. The terms of the stud fee vary between studs but are detailed on the stallion price list. Please contact us for further information if necessary.
2. Chilled Semen is provided for insemination into one mare only per stud fee.
3. Chilled semen can only be delivered Tuesday to Friday inclusive. Very occassionally saturday delivery may be possible from certain studs, but see point 4 below. Although we will do all we can to help, courier delivery is beyond our control and Equine AI are not responsible for late or non delivery for any reason whatsoever. In addition, Equine AI is not responsible for any cost incurred where semen is unavailable, including veterinary and livery costs. For some stallions we store frozen semen should you require semen over a weekend. Frozen semen must be ordered by 9am on a Thursday and frozen semen delivery charges will apply.
4. A delivery fee of £85 + vat will be charged each time chilled semen is delivered. Saturday deliveries are sometimes available from the Schockemoehle stallions, but will be charged at between £250 – £300 + vat. A charge of £30 + vat will be added each time chilled semen is delivered to cover the cost of Health Papers.
5. An order should be made 48 hours before delivery is required for health papers to be arranged in the country of origin. A final confirmation should be be made by 9am, 24 hours before delivery is required.
6. All semen should be accompanied by original ministry stamped health papers from the country of origin. However we cannot guarantee, or be held responsible for their supply. It is the responsibility of the inseminating vet to ensure that the papers are present and satisfactory before insemination.
7. Chilled semen advertised, from some Stallions, maybe unavailable at times without notice. Equine AI will attempt to organise an agreed alternative , or refund the stud fee if it is your first order from that particular stallion and you do not have a second choice. All the studs that we are contracted with have an international reputation and have reliably sent semen of good motility in the past. However the quality and origin of the semen is solely the responsibility of the supplying stud, and beyond the control of Equine AI.
8. It is the mare owner’s responsibility to ensure we have confirmation of a pregnancy and the insemination date before October 1st to enable us to issue the covering certificate.
9. If your mare is not in foal and you qualify for a refund we will require a letter from your vet confirming that your mare is not in foal by October 1st, so we can process the payment.
